Smart Associates is a consortium of independent companies and consultants that collaborate to fulfil organisations’ Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence requirements. In particular, we specialise in the successful design, implementation, and deployment of multi-Terabyte size Enterprise Data Warehouses - typically using Massively Parallel Processing database hardware and software.

The company was originally founded in 2003, and since then has steadily grown - largely by word of mouth recommendations, partner introductions, and repeat sales to existing customers - to include over a dozen consultants with a variety of complimentary, overlapping skill sets, and levels of experience.

Because our fixed costs are relatively low, and all of our growth is entirely organic and self funding, customers directly benefit as they neither have to subsidise the expensive infrastructure typical of most contemporary professional service organisations, nor do they have to worry about our long term financial stability. In short, Smart Associates customers experience all the benefits of dealing with a full service consultancy practice (rather than countless individual contractors) - without having to pay the high overheads and costs typically associated with the larger, more established consultancies.

Since our founding, Smart Associates has expanded from purely time and materials style consulting into fixed price solution delivery, outsourced application and database support, education services, and even risk/reward service offerings. We're proud of the fact that despite numerous large scale and technically demanding engagements, often taking responsibility for projects that others had previously failed to successfully deliver, we’ve never had a single failed project or unsatisfied customer - and we intend to keep it that way.

Typically, we prefer to take responsibility for total solution delivery, rather than simply providing individuals at day rates, and assemble whole teams of professionals to meet our customer’s bespoke Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing requirements. Most of our customers are large, ‘blue chip’ corporations - with a particular emphasis on the telecommunications, financial services, and retail verticals.
